Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

This live 3-hour training session consists of a didactic session introducing the principles, specifics, and useful tips for performing good healthcare root cause analyses, followed by an interactive session where the group collectively performs a root cause analysis on an actual case. All the tools and techniques we use in our face-to-face RCA training sessions are ideal for web-based training as well.

The session is delivered via a Webex conference. Technically, there is no limit to the number of people you may have attend the session. However, from a practical standpoint, the session works best when attended by 6-10 people. That promotes an optimal degree of interaction among the participants. You will need a computer with internet connection and a telephone with speakerphone capability in order to access this module. The need for physical proximity of your participants to your speakerphone limits the size of the group somewhat. Most sites also find that projecting the computer screen is also desirable for groups of more than 4 people. However, keep in mind that your participants do not all need to be at the same location. We can connect simultaneously to your participants at multiple sites.

Cost: $800 (total cost for the group; includes didactic session plus one hands-on interactive case RCA)

Additional hands-on interactive case RCA’s may be purchased at $300 per case (each additional case takes about 90 minutes)
